VIVENDI AND ACTIVISION TO CREATE ACTIVISION BLIZZARD

That's the buzz that has been going around.  Here is the Activision Blizzard FAQ that Blizzard posted to quell concerns about the merger.  We'll see what this means over time, but due to WoW's popularity (18 million subscribers) making this possible I doubt that anything at Blizzard will be changing anytime soon.

The software that I use to run this site (Community Server) had a major update last week, so I've been spending a lot of time working on updating the site and finally rolled out a working version last night.  The calendar system is down until I can get the source and update the control.  Since there wasn't much going on this shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience.

The look and feel is still something that I am working on.  I plan on having a couple themes for you guys to play with.  The default theme will be very similar to the previous version.  With the Sorak theme, I will try to make it somewhat similar to the Matrix theme that Sorak had on his system.  And the Ayna/Alyce theme will be some kind of first aid / Red Cross theme.

If you notice anything strange or broken, please let me know ASAP.

Genus Order is actively recruiting new members in anticipation of the new 25-man raid content included in the upcoming Burning Crusade expansion.  We are a casual guild of friends (many from EQ) that raids.  While we like to have fun just like anyone else, we take our raiding very seriously.  As a guild, we plan to raid 2 nights each week and encourage our members to run their own raids on other days/nites.  You will also find us in battlefields, leveling alts together, farming together, and just having a good time.  It is our intent to recruit until we have 40 casual members or enough members to sustain two, 3 hour, 25-man raids a week.

We are seeking casual players who can play responsibly and seriously, and who will stay with the guild for a very long time.  If you are just looking to gear up your chars and move on, this is not the guild for you.  All members are required to install certain addons, TeamSpeak, and maybe Ventrillo.  We are only accepting applications from adults, but will allow the children of full members to join after their trial period.  Parents will he held responsible for the actions of their children, if they misbehave.

If your are interested in joining our guild, please:

1. Create yourself an account here by clicking on "Join" in the upper right hand corner. 
2. Contact a *Guild Officer in game, if you have any questions. 
3. Read the Application Requirements post.
4. Copy the Application Template.
5. Create a new post in the Guild Membership Applications forum with your application.

* The current guild officers are Alyce, Kaelum (Krauss alt), and Sorak.

If you can't see things that you think you have access too, chances are that you aren't logged in.  Just look at the text bar at the upper right hand corner of the page and see if it says, "Sign in" or "Sign out".  If it says "Sign in" you need to click on that link to sign in.  I made a change today that will allow you to stay logged in for up to 2 weeks after your last page view, if the auto login box is checked when you log in.  If it says "Sign out", then their may be a permissions problem with your account that needs to be addressed.  Just send me a message and I'll take care of it ASAP.

If you are having trouble logging in, the most likely problem is that cookies are not fully enabled in your browser.  If you are using Internet Explorer do the following:

1. Click on Tools / Internet Options... to open the Internet Options dialog box.
2. Click on the Privacy tab and make sure that the setting is at Medium or lower.  If it is higher, this site may fail to operate properly.  This site requires both session and expiring (a.k.a. stored, saved) cookies in order to operate properly.
3. Click OK.

If you are using a different browser you need to make sure that both session and expiring cookies are enabled in order for the site to function properly.
